The life cycle of starting a company at 22 years old: MSUglobal

I was geeked to be one of the 20 or so speakers at MSUglobals 10 year Symposia. They asked me to speak about my lessons & challenges in starting remind101.   A few people have asked me to post the video, so here it is. Only 5 minutes long, so keep up. The other speakers rocked. I especially like Leigh Graves Wolf on edupunk movement, Scott Westermans keynote on everything from inspiration to leadership with a whole lotta energy as usual. Paul McConaughy's Prezi on Pie ups was good too. Of course, all of them were good: check them out here

p.s. I'm out of Alka Seltzer (;

Lessons from Westerman

Last week I had the pleasure of sitting down & chatting about life with Scott Westerman, the Executive Director of the MSU Alumni Association. I learned many lessons. If any MSU'ers have the time to ask Scott about his life path, do it. It's really inspiring to see someone so dedicated to his career & genuinely care about his team/students he surrounds himself with...

I was able to jot down a few good pieces of advice

·         Passion-do what you love and figure out how to get paid for it. Oh yea, it has to be fun.

·         Entrepreneurs take risk: that's why they're not too common.

·        Kaizen leadership is about continuous improvement. The role of a leader is to keep the obstacles out of the teams way

If you want to get in contact with him, here's his blog, Twitter or Facbook
